"Exciting and ambitious in equal measure, Garth's project will bring to life 100 years of climbing history on Everest and signpost a new way ahead for high altitude mountaineering"
- Sir David Hempleman-Adams OBE
"Everest The Fast Way"
Building on my successful 2022 'Lightning Ascent' of Everest, in May 2025 I will embark on the adventure of a lifetime and attempt to summit Everest in 14 days 'door to door' from my home near London (UK). Using my previous experience of Everest, the same pre-acclimatisation strategy, and my knowledge of high altitude physiology and training - I'll continue to push the limits of what is possible.
Target:
14 days London - Summit - London
A key part of the expedition is an immersive 'Everest Experiential Learning Adventure' in which I will be engaging with primary schools across the country to (virtually) bring thousands of 7-11 year pupils along on the climb with me. The aim is to inspire children to set magnificent goals and encourage them to make their dreams a reality. Starting with fun interactive sessions in class before departure, through live virtual sessions from Everest itself to the ultimate 'show and tell' on my return, we will bring to life the concepts of:
Climbing to the top of the world resonates wonderfully with children. Through this adventure, I hope to equip them with practical tools and actionable insights to help them overcome challenges in their own lives and inspire them to follow their dreams. The key message is to encourage everyone to 'be their own hero'.

"Everest Lightning Ascent"
In 2022 I set a 'fastest known time' from London to the summit of Everest and return. For the early pioneers of Everest, an expedition to the mountain would typically involve six months away from home. Advancements in technology, equipment and access mean an Everest expedition today is more commonly 8-9 weeks in duration. Taking advantage of pre-acclimatisation strategies, an immense amount of physical preparation and solid high-altitude mountaineering experience, I pushed the boundaries of what is possible - hitting my target time of 21 days from London to London.
A key part of the expedition was an immersive 'Everest Experiential Learning Adventure' - in which I engaged with local primary schools to (virtually!) bring hundreds of 7-11 year pupils along on the climb with me. The aim was to inspire children to set magnificent goals and encourage them to make their dreams a reality. Starting with fun interactive sessions in class before departure to the ultimate 'show and tell' on my return, I brought to life the concepts of:
Climbing to the top of the world resonates wonderfully with children. Through this adventure, I equipped them with tools to overcome challenges in their own lives and inspired them to follow their dreams. The key message was that heroes are ordinary people who have done something extraordinary - and to encourage everyone to 'be their own hero'.
Thank you for your support of this endeavour which was offered free to local schools. Wiih your support we made this an exciting adventure for hundreds of 7-11 yr olds.
